Client Manager – Site Development Engineering

Position Overview:

  • • We are currently seeking an individual to serve in a key management role within the Site Development Engineering branch of our Private Engineering Unit. The candidate selected for this position will be required to demonstrate a successful history of developing and maintaining client and strategic partner relationships in the field or fields of residential, commercial, or industrial development within the eastern Pennsylvania and/or southern New Jersey regions. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate a successful history of effective project management, contract administration, and team leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • • The candidate selected for the position will report directly to the Principals of Horizon Engineering, and will be responsible for client interaction, overall project management and coordination, contract and budget administration, scheduling, and design team oversight. This position will also require the effective participation in the company’s business development and marketing efforts.

Experience Requirements:

  • • The position will require a minimum of five (5) years of continuous and current experience relevant to the Position Overview and Position Responsibilities stated above. We are seeking an individual who has received a B.S. and/or M.S. in Civil Engineering, with priority given to a candidate that is currently certified (in good standing) as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and/or the State of New Jersey.

Client Manager – Municipal Engineering

Position Overview:

  • • We are currently seeking an individual to serve in a key management role within the Municipal Engineering branch of our Government Services Unit. The candidate selected for this position will be required to demonstrate a successful history of developing and maintaining client and strategic partner relationships in the field of municipal engineering representation within the eastern Pennsylvania region. The successful candidate will also be required to demonstrate a successful history of effective client representation, capital improvement project management, contract administration, and team leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • • The candidate selected for the position will report directly to the Principals of Horizon Engineering, and will be responsible for client interaction, overall project management and coordination, contract and budget administration, scheduling, and design team oversight. This position will also require the effective participation in the company’s business development and marketing efforts.

Building Code Inspector

Position Overview:

  • • We are currently seeking a Building Code Inspector to work directly with the Director of Government Services on numerous accounts in Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, Berks and Lehigh Counties. The candidate selected for this position will be required to perform a range of inspections and evaluations of residential and commercial buildings and structures (which may include structural and non-structural components, including plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems) for compliance with the appropriate municipal and state codes, other applicable regulations, and approved plans and specifications.

Position Responsibilities:

  • • The candidate selected for the position will report directly to the Director of Government Services of Horizon Engineering, and will assist and advise the general public in matters relating to construction and code requirements. They will also be responsible for preparing written reports, maintaining records, and issuing notices to correct code violations. They must read, research, and objectively explain and interpret code requirements along with other laws pertaining to regulation of buildings, and tactfully communicate, orally and in writing, with the general public, while maintaining effective relationships. This position will also require the effective participation to independently recognize, evaluate and properly resolve unique problems or situations requiring the exercise of good judgment.

Experience Requirements:

  • • The position will require the candidate to hold minimum certifications from Pennsylvania Labor & Industry in Categories 12, 13 & 14, have a basic understanding of the UCC regulations and hold a valid driver’s license. Certification in residential electric and experience relevant to the Position Overview and Position Responsibilities stated above is preferred.
