Nature of Firm’s Survey Responsibilities on the Project:

Horizon Engineering provided all surveying services for James D. Morrissey, LLC, the general contractor for the new FedEx facility. Located on Willow Brook Road in Allentown Township, it is set on 253 acres and is 800,000 square feet. Groundbreaking began in August of 2016 and the facility opened in September 2018. The comprehensive surveying services included all horizontal, vertical and topography site controls, erosion controls, staking of all utilities and permanent retaining and boulder walls, and grading of paving on all roads and curbs. Our surveyors also provided machine controls and surfaces. At the end of construction, we also provided As-Built surveys. In addition to the field and site surveying, HEA performed building surveys in the form of anchor bolt verifications. HEA was also hired by Barton Malow, the developer, to perform various activities such as sinkhole locations and miscellaneous site verifications.
